Hi, my name is Tracey Albrecht. I am an artist living in North Carolina. I have raised two wonderful sons who are, themselves, very creative. I have been painting all my life and take great pleasure in doing so. I am most at ease with a paintbrush in my hand.
Most people look at my work and see the organic nature of it. It doesn’t matter what you “see” as long as you come away happy. Looking at my work is like looking at clouds. Everyone sees something different. I am inspired by the life I lead. I am close with my family and friends. I have had several german sheperds over the years, as well as cats and birds. I have a deep love of nature and hope it translates into my work.
While in college, I found my love of dyeing fabric so have continued to make tie-dye and batik works on fabric. I love the unpredictability of working with dye.
While working on this website, I learned that I have breast cancer which has spread to my lymph nodes. After having a mastectomy, and now enduring chemo, I have learned a lot about myself and others. This will probably be the biggest inspiration of my life as I continue down this road. The end is unpredictable, just like working with dyes and paints.
As I continue to add works to this site, cancer has given me the motivation to share myself even more. i have always been open on the canvas and in my conversations with people. I hope you will find things on this site that you can relate to and don’t hesitate to contact me with questions.
